If possibility storm is in play, can I burn the original creature that was cast?

Asked by Pocketmouse 7 years ago

Here's a little more detail: I had an opponent with a deck that had Emrakul, the Aeons Torn as his only creature in it. early in the game (turn 2 or 3) he would play cards like Pyretic Ritual and Desperate Ritual to ramp up his mana and cast possibility storm and then pass his turn I would try and Disenchant his Possibility Storm but, it's hard to cast disenchant when you have to flip through your deck until you find a matching card type when you're running a boros burn deck. On his next turn he would morph in Zoetic Cavern and then pull out Emrakul, take his extra turn, swing and bassically win. Since my deck is a burn deck it would be much easier to burn the Zoetic Cavern morph with Searing Blood or Lightning Bolt, but is that possible? What are my options here (as stated before, I'm playing a Boros Burn deck)? How can I put a stop to this Eldrazi Blasphemy?

Possibility Storm exiles the spell you cast and makes you dig for a card that shares a type with it. The original spell doesn't resolve.

Because Zoetic Cavern never resolves, you can't target it with burn spells. And killing Zoetic Cavern wouldn't stop any triggered abilities from going off, anyway.
