If I declare a Creature as a blocker, then remove it from the field, does the block still occur?

Asked by Argy 8 years ago

My Opponent attacks with a Siege Rhino and I block, with my Frost Walker.

Before damage is assigned I Flash Quickling on to the field and return Frost Walker to my hand.

Does the Siege Rhino deal damage to me?

Thanks for any help.

The block still occurs, but since Siege Rhino has trample, it will deal 4 damage to you.

The only way the scenario you describe would have you take no damage is if the attacking creature doesn't have trample.

Also, when you flash in Quickling to return Frost Walker, Walker will be sacrificed to his own ability and will not return to your hand.

Boza That's incorrect. Quickling's ability doesn't target.

Yeah, it's the targeting I'm more worried about than the Trample.

Poor choice of example. I should have said something like ... Sprinting Warbrute.
