Howl of the Horde + Reverberate + Beacon of Tomorrows

Asked by hosshughes 8 years ago

So, I've tried looking through the other forums for the answer but all the ones I found were about using multiple Howl of the Horde and since I just play commander, I just need an explanation for how it would work being copied. Here's my stab at it:

I attack with a creature to get the raid bonus

Howl of the Horde goes on the stack

Reverberate goes on the stack copying Howl

Reverberate resolves

Original Howl of the Horde resolves (I should now have 2 Howls ready for the next instant/sorcery)

Cast Beacon of Tomorrows giving me 1 extra turn + 2 extra turns from original Howl + 2 extra turns from copied Howl for 5 extra turns total

Is this correct thinking and is it getting the maximum out of these three spells?

Thanks!

That's correct.

Note, however, that when Reverberate resolves, it creates a copy of Howl of the Horde. This copy is created on the stack and must resolve before it does anything. So when Reverberate resolves, you'll have a copy of Howl of the Horde on the stack above the original Howl of the Horde. Each one will have to resolve.
