How does Rescue from the Underworld work

If I take control of an opponents creature with Act of Treason and then sacrifice it for Rescue from the Underworld , do I gain permanent control of that opponents creature when I return it at the beginning of my next upkeep?

Yes, this works the way you want. There's no restrictions on Rescue from the Underworld like "sacrifice a creature you own" or such that would prevent you from doing this. As long as the opponent's creature card you sacrificed is still the same object in their graveyard by the time your next upkeep happens, it'll work fine.
