How does Mind Bend interact with basic and non-basic lands?

I am under the impression that Mind Bend can make Forests produce blue mana, etc. but does it interact with, say, Breeding Pool?

From Gatherer:
"10/4/2004: It can be used to change a lands type from one basic land type to another. For example, Forest can be changed to Island so it produces blue mana. It doesnt change the name of any permanent."
As long as you change the forest or island part to any other land type, you are fine. For example, a "forest forest" Breeding Pool will be able to produce only G.
