Fiddlebending
Asked by Niko9 2 years ago
I'm trying to put together a new EDH deck that uses a lot of combat tricks and non-infinite combos, and I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas whether this worked or not.
Can I use Oswald Fiddlebender on an artifact land like Ancient Den to get phyrexian dreadnaught into play? I'll still have to get around Dready's sac etb, but I will have ways in the deck to do that. I just wasn't sure because of the "this is not a spell" clause on ancient den.
Is it just similar to using Green Sun's Zenith on Dryad Arbor ?
Awesome, thanks for letting me know : ) I thought it worked, but I'm no rules expert, and I really appreciate you taking the time to help me figure this out.

In the future please use the Rules Q&A section of the site for questions about rules, cards, and card interactions. That section has a few added functionalities, such as the ability to mark off when a question is answered and linking the question to any cards referenced, so future users with questions about Oswald Fiddlebender can easily find the question and answer.
I have gone ahead and moved the thread for you. I also marked an answer as accepted as you acknowledged the question is resolved.

Ancient Den not being a spell is mostly so that it counts towards your land drops per turn, and doesn't trigger a Sai, Master Thopterist for example. For the purpose of Oswald Fiddlebender it is still an artifact with mana value and can be sacrificed to get an artifact that costs .
