Facedown Ashcloud Phoenix dies?

Ashcloud Phoenix enters the battlefield face-up. It dies.It comes back face down.If it dies again while still face-down, does it still return, or is it dead for good this time?

This question was answered earlier here.

If a creature dies while face-down, it doesn't have any of the characteristics of its face. Ashcloud Phoenix will die as a 2/2 creature with no abilities, so nothing will trigger. Once in the graveyard, it will revert to its default state (being an Ashcloud Phoenix , but the ability won't retroactively trigger.

As a rule of thumb, if a card seems to create some kind of infinite loop all on its own, then it probably doesn't work the way you think. A creature that just keeps coming back over and over again without some kind of cost or other stipulation is something they just would not print.

actually i have a question along these lines, Does ashcloud return to the battle field as a 2/2 colorless? There is no indication that returns as anything but a colorless permanent.

or is it a rule that any creature entering the battlefield face down is a 2/2 colorless creature.

@MagicPlaya: Read the post dates before you comment. Don't reply to threads that are over a month old. Next time, ask a new question.

The wording on the card is pretty bad at conveying this in a literal sense, but the implication appears to be that Ashcloud Phoenix will return as a morphed creature. It will be a 2/2 creature with no other characteristics, and you can unmorph it for .
