Exile and return, all cards enter and trigger simultaneously?

Asked by NicS18 7 years ago

If my opponent has 3 enchantments, an artifact, Harmonic Sliver and 3 other slivers on the field and I target them with Sudden Disappearance, would all of their cards return simultaneously, meaning each sliver would get the ETB effect from Harmonic and they would have to destroy all 4 of their artifacts and enchantments (Harmonic isn't a "may" effect and I didn't control any), or can they be stacked so Harmonic enters last and they only have to destroy one/have all artifacts and enchantments enter after the creatures so they don't have to destroy any?

Thanks

When the non land permanents enter the battlefield again, You will get a trigger from your 4 slivers of Harmonic Sliver's ability. At that time, all the non land permanents will already be back in play and be legal targets for the abilities.

If that opponent is the only one that controls any artifact and/or enchantments, then he/she must target their own permanents.

Note that if this were the case, any player with common sense would have all 4 triggers target the same artifact/enchantment, thus saving the other 3. When the abilities go to resolve, the first one will do so and destroy the targeted permanent while the rest of the 3 fizzle for lack of target.

Thanks for the fast response! My opponent is new to the game and I'm just getting back into it so I'm rusty. I didn't know you could target the same one multiple times either, so thank you for that extra info!
