If a card is legal in a format, any printing of that card is legal, even if the set the card was printed in is no longer legal.

No, the latest regular printing of Goblin Bombardment was Tempest. It isn't even legal in Modern.

I'm saying that if a normal regular set printing contains the card, you can use any version of it. Special sets like Duel decks, From the Vaults, Commander decks etc aren't regular sets. Being printed in one doesn't change their legality at all.

I mean that since they printed Goblin Piledriver in Magic Origins, you are able to use the Onslaught printing (Onslaught being not Standard legal) because -a- printing is in a standard legal set.

Oh no problem at all! Format legality is confusing, since for Standard, sets are in, and then they leave, and so on.
