Does Sphere of Resistance Stack?

Asked by Coinman1863 9 years ago

Two related questions:

1: If you have two Sphere of Resistance out, do spells cost 1 or 2 more?

2: If you have a Trinisphere and a Sphere of Resistance out, is the minimum cost of a spell 4?

The 2 Sphere of Resistances stack causing every spell to cost more to cast.

Trinisphere will only kick in if the spell being cast pays less then 3 mana. So a 2 drop would be increases to 3 by Sphere of Resistance, and Trinisphere would see that it cost 3 mana and nothing would happen. If they played a 1 drop however, Sphere of Resistance would increase that to 2 mana, that is less than 3 mana so Trinisphere would make them pay 3 mana.

If you have 2 Sphere of Resistance out, both will add to the casting costs of spells.

To the second question, I believe the answer is yes.

Say you have both of those out, I play Triton Shorestalker. It originally cost to play. Now with Trinisphere it will cost more to cast added to . Sphere of Resistance willl tack on another totaling up to a cost of .

HorridBEAST is right. The minimum cost of a spell cast would be 3.

Look at the rulings on the Gatherer Website: Trinisphere always goes last, so Sphere of Resistance will tack on its extra and then Trinisphere will check if that cost is less than 3
