Does hexproof prevent Daxos of Meletis's ability from triggering?

Scenario: Opponent has Orbs of Warding granting hexproof, does this prevent Daxos of Meletis's second ability?

no, since the ability does not target. Hexproof only prevents things that say target. Such as "target player loses 5 life". Since the ability does not say target player, hexproof will not stop the ability.

Negative. Hexproof only prevents you from being targeted, which only occurs when an effect says "target." Anything that says "that" or "choose" or references a specific object or player without saying "target" will not be affected by effects that prevent targeting.
