Do/can enchantments die...? Yavimaya Elder and Myrkul, Lord of Bones

Asked by CamraMaan 1 year ago

Say I have Yavimaya Elder and Myrkul, Lord of Bones in play, and I sacrifice Yavimaya and get a token enchantment copy. I can then sacrifice that enchantment token to draw another card, but will the land search trigger as well? Because of the word "dies" I'm left unsure because "dies" refers to a creature or planeswalker going to the graveyard, not an enchantment. So will it trigger...? Thanks in advance! :)

700.4. The term dies means "is put into a graveyard from the battlefield."

For templating, Wizards only uses the term 'dies' when it's referring to (or likely to refer to) a creature or planeswalker, but odd cases like this it could refer to other permanents, like an enchantment, going to the graveyard.

I was assuming so, but had to make sure. Thanks! :)
