Dictate of the Twin Gods and Satyr Firedancer

Asked by Enditoren 9 years ago

if i fire a Lightning Strike to my oponents head and have a Dictate of the Twin Gods , my Lightning Strike does 6 dmg to my oponent and then my Satyr Firedancer triggers and deal 12 dmg to a creature my oponent controls because of the doubling dmg of the Dictate of the Twin Gods , is that right?

I think you are right, dictate triggers in both of the situations.

That is correct. The Dictate of the Twin Gods doubles the Lightning Strike Damage. Then the Satyr Firedancer triggers. When the damage would be dealt the Dictate of the Twin Gods replaces that damage again causing you to deal 12 damage to target creature.

Dictate of the Twin Gods is not a triggered ability it is a replacement ability and doesn't change the source of the damage. If it were a triggered ability it would deal damage to the opponent and Satyr Firedancer would only do a quarter as much damage (3 from the Lightning Strike 3 from the Satyr Firedancer and 6 from the Dictate of the Twin Gods ).
