Creatures that ping upon death that are given deathtouch by another source

How does this work?
Say I have Footlight Fiend and Archetype of Finality out on the field, and Footlight Fiend dies.
Will the fiend's ping trigger upon death still be counted as deathtouch damage or not since it's getting sent to the graveyard?

The last known characteristic(s) of the creature would be checked, so unless Footlight Fiend somehow lost Deathtouch before it died it would still count as such.
