Clarification on Salective Adaptation

Does Selective Adaptation only look for permanent cards, or will it also see an instant card that gives a creature flying, etc? I obviously wouldn't be able to put such an instant on the battlefield, but I would theoretically still be able to put it in my hand. Thanks in advance!
Conversely, it actually could find a Super-Duper Death Ray, though that's an acorn/silver-bordered card, so isn't legal in basically any format.

That's what I was assuming, but without putting "permanent card" it opened up the question. Much appreciated!

It just does what it says and lets you find cards with one of those abilities, i.e. it actually has the ability. Jump doesn't have flying, neither does Flight of Fancy, Leaping Lizard, nor Opal Gargoyle. Storm Crow and Smuggler's Copter have flying.
