Bogbrew Witch vs. Rapid Hybridization

So if I have a Bogbrew Witch on the battlefield and I use her ability to find a Festering Newt and in response to that he uses Rapid Hybridization to turn the Witch into the 3/3 green wizard. Me tapping the mana does not go to the stack does it. The ability does so the Rapid Hybridization resolves, turning the Witch but after that resolves the ability resolves and I still get to find the Newt. Am I right?

It's also worth noting that you have two options:
1) Activate your mana abilities before announcing the beginning of the activation process of Bogbrew Witch 's ability. Because mana abilities don't use the stack, your opponent can't respond to this action.
2) Activate your mana abilities during the activation process of Bogbrew Witch 's ability. Because no player has priority at this point, your opponent can't respont to this action.

Correct. An ability, once on the stack, is independent of its source. Killing the Witch at this point in time will not remove the ability from the stack
