Are these Goblin Welder oder similar artifact recursion combos infinite?

Hey everyone

i've been looking around for this topic and didn't find any combo resembling this so i wanted to ask if i am just mistaken in my train of thought, because normally the community has thought of every crazy combination that is possible

If I'm correct I'm gonna have a lot of fun with my osgir commander until people know what im up to

If i have Goblin Welder out as well as Thousand-Year Elixir in the graveyard and Sol Ring (or any other artifact that produces 2 or more mana) on the battlefield

-> i tap Sol Ring and float 2 mana -> activate Goblin Welder, sacrifice Sol Ring and bring back Thousand-Year Elixir -> use one of the two mana produced by Sol Ring to untap Goblin Welder with Thousand-Year Elixir -> net 1 mana ->activate Goblin Welder sacrifice Thousand-Year Elixir and bring back Sol Ring -> repeat brings infinite mana

If i have something out like Reckless Fireweaver or Fuming Effigy this is basically an instakill all opponents and i wouldn't even need Sol Ring, but any artifact producing 1 mana would be enough

A Little more complicated would be Goblin Welder out with Dross Scorpion and Liquimetal Torque and one artifact creature in the yard, one on the field

-> Liquimetal Torque makes Goblin Welder an artifact ->Goblin Welder sacrifices any artifact creature and gets another one back ->Dross Scorpion's ability untaps Goblin Welder -> repeat

infinite ETB, infinite leave graveyard triggers, theres several ones that would be an instakill, draw infinite...

if the two artifacts have the same mana value you could also use Goblin Welder's new little brother Scrap Welder

so let me know if i missed something and this complete bullshit, or if this would actually work

The place your combo breaks down is after you tap welder to return the Sol Ring and sacrifice the Thousand-Year Elixir. You now have a tapped Goblin Welder and Sol Ring which is a different board state than the original untapped welder and Sol Ring.

The Dross Scorpion line works. It is a 5 card combo that doesn't provide value without a 6th piece, so I wouldn't use it as a primary wincon, but it is cute.

Gidgetimer thanks, what a duh moment, of course the Goblin Welder is tapped then

so you would need an artifact that produces at least 3 mana, one that i have f.e. Gilded Lotus and Lithoform Engine for this to work

tap Gilded Lotus -> 3 floating, sac with Goblin Welder and get back Thousand-Year Elixir, pay 1 to untap Goblin Welder and copy that ability for 2 with Lithoform Engine, let the frist untap trigger resolve, with the second on the stack, tap Goblin Welder to get back Gilded Lotus and let the second untap trigger resolve and repeat

but that is a very convoluted 4 card combo that doesn't do anything without a 5th card, something that produces 4+ mana would give infinite mana, its a shame having two routes with two different creatures would have been great

You would also have a tapped Lithoform Engine and run into the same problem as before on the next iteration. If you had 2 things that produced 4 mana you could use Staff of Domination to fuel the welder untaps. At that point though it would just be less complicated to use one of the 2 card infinite mana combos and then do your welder loops rather than finding two things to tap for 4.

I would see the Dross Scorpion route as 3 card combo, in an Osgir, the Reconstructor deck youre gonna have an artifact in your yard and on the battlefield, even its only an Ancient Den

so any ETB artifact gives you infinite value, even a Skyscanner, Ichor Wellspring or similar ones draw you infinite cards, Solemn Simulacrum draws you infinite Cards and gets all your basics, Meteor Golem/Duplicant destroys/exiles every other non-land permanent/creature, Myr Battlesphere makes infinite 1/1 Myrs, Triplicate Titan/Phyrexian Triniform/Wurmcoil Engine makes infinite larger tokens

So its very hard to imagine a situation where you assemble this combo and not win on the spot or at least get such an advantage, that your not gonna loose as long as nobody can disrupt it, especially considering that this deck has several ways to give its creatures/artifacts haste

of course its not the main win condition, but its three pieces that are good for the deck anyway, that go infinite together, which is very nice

Gidgetimer unfortunately theres no face palm emoji, seems like im always forgetting about the one things staying tapped

and i dont have a Staff of Domination and im not buying singles, my goal isn't to go infinite but to brainfuck myself what i can squeeze out of the cards, that i do have

I also thought about if i could do something with doubled Manifold Key from Osgir and Lithoform Engine but, that doesnt work either, seems like i cant go infinite with the cards that i have without Dross Scorpion
