Archangel of Thune and Thrummingbird

Asked by DemonDragonJ 4 years ago

If a player attacks simultaneously with Archangel of Thune and Thrummingbird , can that player stack the abilities of those creatures so that the creatures first receive +1/+1 counters from the angel's ability, and then receive additional +1/+1 counters from the bird's ability?

Yes. All damage is dealt simultaneously, and Lifelink occurs simultaneously with the damage being dealt. As such, you gain life via Lifelink at the same time combat damage is dealt by Thrummingbird . Since you control the triggers, you can order them on the stack however you wish. In this case, Thrummingbird is put on the stack first and Archangel of Thune second. Archangel resolves first and gives your creatures the counters. Thrummingbird then resolves and you proliferate, choosing the creatures to proliferate during resolution of proliferate.

Caerwyn, that is very good, since I have both of those creatures in a deck, and I wish to be certain that they do interact as I wish for them to do so. Thank you very much.
