? about equipment and targeting

I control Krenko, Mob Boss and he's on the field with Lightning Greaves attached. Can I still untap him using Magewright's Stone? Or, do the greaves make it so I can't target him? If so, do I just need to unequip the greaves, target the Krenko, then reattach the greaves? Thanks in advance for the info and help.

For future reference; there is a rules Q&A section of the website that has some added functionality like the ability to chose a response as the accepted one and is frequented by a good number of more knowledgeable users who might sometimes miss questions in other forums.
Shroud makes it so that no one can target the creature. Spells and abilities are targeted if they use the word "target" in their text, which Magewright's Stone does. You will be unable to untap Krenko if he has Lightning Greaves equipped, but could target him if he had Swiftfoot Boots equipped (the difference between shroud and hexproof). There is no way to unequip most equipment without attaching it to a different creature. If you attack the Greaves to another creature you could target Krenko to untap him, but your opponents will also be able to target him.
