A question about Grapeshot

Asked by EddCrawley 9 years ago

Do the copies of Grapeshot also count toward the storm count;

eg, I have cast 6 spells so far on my turn, I then cast Grapeshot for a total of 7 damage,

I then cast another Grapeshot , is my storm count up to 13 for the second one to hit for 14 (lethal) damage?

Also, how does Pyromancer Ascension interact with Grapeshot ?

Does in only create another copy of the spell (1 more damage), or is the entire effect duplicated (as much damage as the entire casting, ie 7 damage from first example).

Always head to gatherer first for rulings:

6/7/2013 The copies are put directly onto the stack. They aren't cast and won't be counted by other spells with storm cast later in the turn.

Pyromancer ascension does create just one additional copy of the spell Grapeshot. Copies of a spell are not cast, they are simply created on the stack above the original spell. Only a spell that has been cast can trigger the Storm ability (it is in the reminder text of Grapeshot itself).
