Secret Lair: Out of Time Superdrop

Here is the newest set of Secret Lairs, and I am fond of some of them, but not all of them.

I am not particularly fond of the old-style planeswalkers, but at least their artwork is nice.

Johannes Voss began illustrating for WotC only recently, so I am surprised that he already has an artist series dedicated to him, but I am very pleased to see that Thomas M. Baxa has his won series, since I think that his artwork is some of the best and most unique artwork that WotC has.

The math set does not interest me, but I definitely do appreciate the Kamigawa set.

What does everyone else say about this? What do you think of the newest set of Secret Lairs?

Not everything is a hit for me either but I'll probably end up buying a bundle. There's some decent value in a few but the ones I'm particularly fond of are the Inked one and the Baxa one. My wallet has taken such a beating this year.

I might pick up the Kamigawa set and the old school Planeswalkers. Kamigawa was my first set so I have a fondness for the characters and setting. And when they first announced the retro-border cards I wanted like, Jace, the Mind Sculptor with all the rules text crammed in the box in a size 2 font.

The Voss one has incredible art. The purrfection is cute but other then that this is meh. The planeswalkers are atrocious imo

I like the Kamigawa and the Johannes Voss, but still prefer the og Toshiro Umezawa art.

Johannes Voss is more recently prominent in the past couple years but has cards that date back quite a bit such as Shaman of Spring and Guardian Lions. He has also been making mtg tokens for quite a few years now some paper and some hard plastic.

I love how "Math is for blockers" started off as an inside joke on Game Knights, said by Jimmy Wong just before he lost the game. Than it became a meme, and now it's like an official style of play and saying.

I got the whole bundle, just because I usually parse it out between my friends and I and then we save on shipping buying all together. I had a spiritual need for Kamigawa Ink, though. I love it when they do different art styles. I want the planeswalkers because of the classic artists they chose...it hit me straight in the nostalgia.

Johannes Voss has been working with MTG for at least a decade, and he plays the game :)

golgarigirl, Necrosis24, I did not realize that, so it is very interesting that I only recently began paying attention to his artwork.
