Help me fine tune this Angelic Accord / Resplendent Angel deck

Modern Deck Help forum

So once I saw this new card from M19, Resplendent Angel, I decided I really wanted to tune up the old Angelic Accord archetype. Also Crested Sunmare is a thing now so it feels like there is a strong deck here.

So, what are the best ways to gain 5+ life on (preferably) each player's turn?

I was leaning towards Orzhov mainly just for Whip of Erebos so that my angels / horses can easily take care of the trigger on my turn but I can't think of much else in black that I would consider necessary.

All tips and suggestions appreciated!

Luminarch Ascension could also go in this deck.

Lifegain in black... Disciple of Bolas and Tendrils of Corruption, perhaps?

Disciple of Bolas is decent once I get a horse out or something, but looking for more static effects that can repeatedly gain me life.

Elixir of Immortality seems like a good one-shot option but still need some repeatable effects.

Martyr of Sands and Proclamation of Rebirth, no need to bother with black cards at all. And Serra Ascendant fits well enough too. It's perhaps a new variation of martyrproc, with enchantments as wincon, you are making?

Kind of? It's a bit different than Martyr Proc. I will probably run Martyr of Sands and Serra Ascendant but those are about the only cards the decks will have in common.

And yeah the more I look at it the less I think I need black. Whip of Erebos is super strong but at least things like Spirit Loop can help get the engine rolling.

Here is my list so far (rough draft, so there is definitely some chaff I need to cut):

Resplendent Accord

10 lands is less than half of what you need. Yes, there are 3 signets in your deck. No, they are not enough either.

Also, what I meant was that perhaps it would be easier to adapt the martyrproc shell, to life-gain-wincons. Martyrproc wins by gaining life, and holding on until the constant card advantage from Proclamation of Rebirth ends the game.

Your current build will most likely beat burn, but not much else. You don't really stop an opponent from building card advantage against you. Many games will be you popping life-gain after lifegain, against an opponent who plays bigger and bigger threats, and you'll be lacking mana like crazy (to curve directly to 5, you need 26 mana sources or something like that).

I think you should find something more reliable to gain life, other than random creatures. Auriok Salvagers and Sunbeam Spellbomb could do, but other ways of getting the spellbomb back would also work. The spellbomb could be replaced by other cheap artifacts - perhaps you're on to something with the Scroll of Avacyn. Martyr of Sands and Proclamation of Rebirth is an option, but is better when you have some way of filling your hand with white cards (hello Squadron Hawk). Yet another option is Isochron Scepter and a lifegaining instant (I like this idea, since you can play sweepers in the early game without losing much).

xyr0s, that list is a rough draft. No way am I running 10 lands total in a deck. I'm just pooling ideas at the moment and will refine the list later.

I'm not looking for a super competitive deck, just something that can be resilient and throw out tons of tokens once it gets running.

There's Obelisk of Alara, or Starlight Invoker. Not the best options but consistent 5 life.

Trading Post - 4 life each turn, and bunches of synergy options.
