Okay obviously not the creature type cause I just chose whichever,

But I was just thematically thinking of how to represent the supernatural universe's ghosts, like how they can beat the crap out of you until you find their body and destroy it:

Strong-souled Loxodon; 2w

1/1

Strong-souled loxodon can block any creature regardless of keyword

Strong-souled loxodon can choose to fight target creature instead of dealing combat damage

When obeisant loxodon is put in your graveyard from anywhere create a 13/13 black spirit creature named Avenging Spirit onto the battlefield

When strong-souled loxodon leaves your graveyard, destroy all creatures named Avenging Spirit that you control

Whoops I just noticed I missed an "obeisant loxodon", that was the original name
obviously it should say the actual strong-souled name

What's the intent of the first ability? I don't know Supernatural at all, so it might be a flavor thing I'm missing. It also feeds the token creation ability a bit too well, especially with the second ability.

The second ability should be worded as a replacement effect: "If Strong-Souled Loxodon would deal combat damage, you may have it fight target creature (you don't control?) instead."

The token creation ability is too much. Turn 1, target yourself with Funeral Charm or Cry of Contrition or Putrid Imp or Entomb or Tome Scour or Careful Study or Faithless Looting or Burning Inquiry... A turn 1 13/13 with no card disadvantage and minimal setup, available in multiple colors, would break the game. The last clause helps a little bit, but it's still overpowered--Death's Shadow with zero risk and reduced color requirement.

Overall, this card might be accurate to what Supernatural has, but in M:tG, it's just overpowered.

Yeah all the numbers can be re-worked to make it less powerful. Which isn't really the point, but sure.

But I honestly wonder if it really is OP for modern magic. Maybe change the "graveyard from anywhere" to "graveyard from anywhere but your hand",

If it was just graveyard from the battlefield it wouldn't see play in eternal formats.

And all the opponent needs is the final chapter of urza's saga to find some hate and all your beefy spirits are gone.

And I'd like to see wizards try something along those lines to give dredge some glass-cannon burst. I know they hate the archetype and a lot of people hate the archetype,

But it'd be an interesting angle.

So back to the actual point of my post,

I like the "burn the body and the spirit is destroyed" feel.

I actually really got to like dredge, once I learned how to use it correctly.

Leaving aside the numbers and focusing on the feel, building off this idea, maybe something like "At the beginning of your upkeep, if Deadguy is in your graveyard and you control no creatures named Ghost, create a ?/? black Spirit creature token named Ghost with flying and other cool abilities." Your ability would work as well, if you tone down the numbers. (Numbers aren't the focus, sure, but those 13s are pretty distracting).

And I'm still not quite sure if the über-blocking and combat-fight switch are a key part of the flavor design. Could you please explain the intent of those?
