Minds Aglow or Faerie Mastermind?

Commander Deck Help forum

I shall definitely put a copy of Faerie Mastermind into my Nekusar, the Mindrazer EDH deck, because that card has obvious synergy with that deck, but I am wondering if I should also put the faerie into my Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis EDH deck, since I believe that that creature has excellent synergy with that deck, as well, and I likely would replace Minds Aglow with the faerie, since I have noticed that other players too often will not pay any mana and simply leech off me when I cast that spell, so the faerie will allow me to receive greater benefits than do they, and it shall also provide a creature that has both flash and flying, which is nice.

What does everyone else say about this? Should I replace Minds Aglow with Faerie Mastermind?

I mean, why would they feed their own destruction with Minds Aglow? The upside of Minds Aglow is that if someone chooses to counterspell it, it's before you pay the additional mana.

While I haven't played my deck live yet, I will definitely be considering throwing the Faerie Mastermind in after my first live tests prove the deck's concept. So thanks for sharing that.

I don't think I will remove Mind's Aglow from my deck, as draw X cards is deal X damage to all players, which is pretty effective. Not as good as the ones that refresh everyone's hand, but compared to a lot of other cards seems good for my budget. (cards in the deck itself cost about 60-80$)

I think you would get a lot of milage out of a 2 drop flash flier with a mana sink that plays to your strategy, but I don't play competitive, so I can't speak to that level. Minds Aglow can't chump block some awful flying commander damage as a combat trick.

I think Minds Aglow is sick. With a draw punishment on the table it’s at worst like casting an X cost red damage spell. There is some great politic potential which makes for interesting and sometimes hilarious games. The other card is probably better, but if it were me I’d keep the Minds Aglow. I guess it mostly depends on the style of your playgroup. About to go tell my friend with a Nekusar deck to add this.

Oh it seems I misread that you were considering these options for Nekusar. I still think Minds Aglow seems like it would be more fun to play though

Squidcod, nhhale, I actually was asking for my Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck, since I have already decided that I definitely shall put the fairy in my Nekusar, the Mindrazer deck.

Might help you get a response if your commander choice described your endgame with that commander. Nekusar is pretty obvious, but the other one is just vaguely good stuff.

Squidcod, the primary way that I win with my Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis deck is to encourage my opponents into attacking each other until only one remains, whom I then finish, but another way of winning is to mill them out with Folio of Fancies.

Tough call, I personally might see how the deck plays and consider bringing it in depending.

It's nice that it has the ability to dump a bunch of mana to get some cards, but if you don't have most of the players drawing at least one card on a turn it might not be as useful.

It sounds pretty nice to play in a pod that doesn't assume you doing good things for others means you're up to something and commences the beatdown.

Squidcod, my Kynaios and Tiro deck has plenty of cards that make it more difficult for other players to make hostile moves against me, so I feel fairly confident in putting the faerie in that deck.
