The Final Update —Jan. 22, 2023

I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank the community that has helped make Yeva Draw-Grow the most popular and successful version of the deck. The process of keeping multiple primers updated and managing the updates became too much and I have decided it's best to direct all pilots who wish to learn more about it to the Yeva discord. This will make it easier for me to help new pilots and provide them with the most up-to-date information. I will still be available to answer questions in the comments section. Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Also, let me know in the comment section if you want the theme back, it was difficult to read for some. The list and primer will always be maintained, but I will no longer keep the Change log alive, you can still check it out on the previous update.

What a cool deck! Really impressed with the quality of the deck and the card choices of the cards. Never thougt that heartwood storyteller would be such a potent powerhouse in a all-creatures deck. Any tips for newer players that are getting into the deck for the first time?

How is Karametra's Acolyte playing out? Do you find yourself reaching enough devotion to utilize it effectively? I know it's a recent change so you might not have enough info as of now. Same question with Concordant Crossroads. Has giving opponents haste ever backfired more than help, and if so, what proportion of your games has that occurred in?

Profet93: So, Earthcraft is banned in Conquest, so I, on a whim slotted Concordant Crossroads in... and it is so fucking stupid. I cannot begin to describe just how dumb this card is. You generally slap this down with the dorks in hand and Yeva on board... allowing you to just pop off at instant speed. If we play it out without a line in mind, and just because you can, it'll definitely blow up in your face. I found that Winota, Joiner of Forces is the only one we really want to watch out for and the new Devoted Druid + Swift Reconfiguration combo when playing Concordant Crossroads. However, this was not an update I was ready to publicize, but I inadvertently deleted the whole update (plus changelog) and had to commit to posting the draft or nothing at all. I do believe the list should be on this, so I don't mind committing. J-Lo will be revisited most likely as well.

As for Karametra's Acolyte, the list has been wanting this card for the better part of a year... and across all the experienced pilots we all can collectively agree that Selvala, Heart of the Wilds has been absolute shit for quite some time. That pay one green was quite restrictive, the cantrip was almost always beat by an early Kraum, Ludevic's Opus or Serra Ascendant, while only getting 4 mana (really 3) most of the time was a really lame baseline. Selvala could only go off with Ashaya Rangers and Kogla Hyrax combos, whereas Acolyte can go off with all of those along with Temur Symbiote and Temur Hyrax lines. It just gives waaaayyy more mana on average while having a way bigger butt that's more likely to survive Jeska, Thrice Reborn.

Sorry for cursing, but damn, Concordant Crossroads is so nutty. Dorks can go off with bouncers, Yisan/Fauna can tutor on drop, you don't have to wait till EOT for safe set up, you essentially have wins in hand... Like Ashaya Quirion with Concordant is GG... Like, your board could legit be Yeva, Concordant and 5 mana and you can go infinite whenever.

Wait, you dropped selvala for Acolyte? And here I thought I finally had an updated list.

Kamerot: Unfortunately yes, though the change wasn't meant to be publicized just yet, but I lost the whole update and changelog, so I committed to posting the draft or lose it all :/

But yeah Selvala has been horribad for a time now and we really scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to find justifications for it. Acolyte does everything we want it to do and more. Works in every line Selvala works in and way more.

But for all intents and purposes, this is the official direction of the list until further testing proves otherwise.

So, Yeva just won the Kaos event on the cEDH Nexus, making it the third time the list wins an event.

Love the list, been running Yeva for years now.

What are your thoughts on Castle Garenbrig? Seems like a low opportunity cost for creature ramp, but maybe it comes into play tapped too often in cEDH.

I have the same question as the user above. It either hasn't been seriously considered, or inkmoth probably doesn't feel the slight benefit of ramp outweighs the potential of it coming in tapped, especially in a deck with so many one drops and lower land count.

Soldrand/Profet93: Castle has been considered multiple times, but currently the main list is on way too many utility lands and only 16 forests if you count Yavimaya, Fetches, and Dryad.

But don't worry, it's currently up for debate again for the next update in the Discord!

Wish I had a suggestion for the deck, anything from the new set sparking your interest?

Karn, the Great Creator - Not an entirely serious suggestion given you have collector ouphe and others. It can't be tutored with g-sun, finale, etc... but it makes it less prone to removals/wipes. You dont run many artifacts, anti-synergy with thorn. But I feel it's still potentially worth a look depending on your meta, gameplay, etc... It's +1 could destroy 0 drops lol

Profet93: So this list is an attempt to be as optimal as possible within a blind meta, and I highly implore that Yeva pilots mold their variants to their metas. I personally love Karn, and am all for it, but as it stands, the list has a very healthy amount of artifact hate and a 4 mana sorc speed PW is a bit much. Even if it's asymmetrical. If playing out in the wild calls for more stax of this kind, I'd probably consider Orb of Dreams before this. Strictly cause it's cheaper and that's all we're aiming for now; cheaper stuff to get out of our early game.

Woodcaller Automaton - Seems like a cool card. During playtesting, I had it with Force of vigor in my hand. Can I use it for force of vigor's effect given there are green mana symbols? Or is it still an artifact regardless of the mana symbol inside text and not noted on the card CMC?

If you ever get the maze of ith + elder infinite mana combo, do you just get a bunch of value by casting your creatures at instant speed during combat? Some of them to prevent overextending? It's been a while since I looked at the deck seriously so perhaps I forgot.

December 28, 2022 1:28 a.m.

Inkmoth says... #21

Profet93: Unfortunately, that's one of Woodcaller's downsides. However, what it CAN do is give us another infinite line with just Temur and 7 creatures. As well as another haste enabler with Ashaya. It's also fetchable with Fierce Empath, which means even Bellower can find Woodcaller.

As for Ith + Ley Weaver/Argothian Elder combo, it is one of the more proactive combos in the list. However, once we go infinite, we just win. Going infinite in Combat is just as good as someone else's upkeep. Remember, the list is just like every other monogreen list, once we have infinite and an outlet we win. Go to combat, attack with Ley/Elder, untap it with Ith, go infinite. Cast Yeva, then cast X way to get Duskwatch and win.
