I am a fan of drawing cards! Have you tried Rhystic Study ? Upvoted for interesting concepts and looking forward to seeing where it ends up :D

Chasm Skulker seems too good to not have here, could easily become a win for you.

No Edric, Spymaster of Trest ? He gives you lots of card draw and also makes a fun group hug for the table by encouraging enemies to attack one another instead of you. I prefer him over Zegana myself, but both are really fun and awesome generals.

Chasm Skulker makes a really good Lorecale Coatl #2. I'll definitely try to pick one up. I think Edric really lends himself better to a different style of deck. I don't attack with many evasive creatures with this deck. All I want to do is draw cards and get bonkers-huge creatures.

A few cards you could cinsoder for the deck:

Sometimes I get horrifyingly huge creatures on the battlefield so casting Zegana a second time can be an insta-lose for me. Bioshift is decent but I don't think it really warrants a slot, personally. I like chasm skulker a lot.

if you pick up Laboratory Maniac , some green tutor-for-creature spells, then some ways to replay general, you would be pretty fine to win like that. you'll reliably be drawing a way to get the maniac early on, then recast zegana a few times to get some easy draw everything.

Momir Vig sets up a win pretty nicely. Tutor for Lab Maniac and Deadeye Navigator, cast zegana, flicker her until my deck is in my hand.

August 5, 2014 3:17 a.m.

If yoy wanna go competitive, zegana is a pretty awesome choice. My current build uses Doubling cube to resolve a blue sun's zenith for 100+. Deadeye navigator helps me draw my entire deck, and in multiplayer, once you've drawn your deck you can play doubling cube, double your mana, bounce it with boomerang, recast it, double again, play archeomancer, grab boomerang, double again, blink it with navigator and get infinite mana. Once you do that, you can use Fact of Fiction repeatedly, with only a blue sun's zenith in deck to infinitely recast it. It sounds like a clunky combo, and it kinda is, but when I consistently draw my entire deck by turn 7, I can do weird stuff like that, and more importantly, all those pieces are spectacular on their own.

Here is teh decklist I have on here, although irl it's slightly different. The deck has won every single EDH tournament I've used it in, including some larger 30, 40 person tournaments agaisnt decks like Niv Mizzet and Arcum Dagson.

The Path of Progress; Now without Maros!

That sounds really exciting, but I play casual commander mostly and I don't want to alienate my mostly budget friends. I commonly go up against the likes of Angus Mackenzie control, Rakdos, Lord of Riots aggro and Jhoira of the Ghitu combo. I don't really like infinite mana combos that much, but there are some slick things in this deck and I like it when games get to play out. As this deck stands, it can win with lab maniac, but it takes a bit more work. I like your suggestions, though, but I feel like that deck might almost be stronger with Kruphix at the helm.

all that card draw and no Omniscience ???

August 8, 2014 1:50 a.m.

Stormtide Leviathan could work very well here too

Zegana can't fly though

asasinater13 says... #15

you're in blue, making something fly isn't too difficult. run an Archetype of Imagination so it'll be cool if you draw it away from the stormtide as well.

As a casual deck, Rite of Replication is the most fun card you can possibly run. Just don't use it on biovisionary or something XD But on a Master Biomancer it gets silly without being overpowered.

August 8, 2014 1:27 p.m.

asasinater13 says... #17

on Rite of Replication if you have out laboratory maniac, Rite of Replication your commander, always sacrifice the smaller of the two, you'll draw out your deck real fast.

August 8, 2014 1:30 p.m.

Usually about 30 or 40 cards for 9 mana, always a solid deal. The card is stupid on a Frost Titan , but that's probably not were you wanna go with it. I stole a game from kaalia by kicking a replication on the utvera helkite and giving one haste with greives. Oh, you have 2 dragons? I have 20. Next turn I'll have 120. Wanna scoop now and save yourself the pain?

August 8, 2014 1:35 p.m.

Steaditup says... #19

I really like the notion of Rite of Replication . It'd be like having a second progenitor mimic! And nothing is more fun than having tons of master biomancer clones.

August 8, 2014 10:54 p.m.

or tons of Murkfiend Liege tokens :D that devotion

August 9, 2014 1:44 p.m.

Primordial Hydra is maybe the best hydra out there and could add to all your hydra sub theme going there...

Oracle of Mul Daya is a better Courser of Kruphix because it lets you play 2 lands per turn.

With all your big ass creatures, the Ulvenwald Tracker could be great here.

I'm just starting out a Prime Speaker Zegana deck and your deck has given me some help.

August 9, 2014 2:32 p.m.

Steaditup says... #22

Primordial Hydra is neat, but Genesis Hydra and Green Sun's Zenith don't synergize with it like they do with Heroes' Bane and Kalonian Hydra. Kalonian Hydra also doubles the counters on all my creatures, which can be tons of free draw with Fathom Mage .

August 10, 2014 2:58 a.m.

Jaxis says... #23

Have you considered Aeon Chronicler ? Gives you a free card per turn as long as its suspended. :D

August 10, 2014 11:03 a.m.

Steaditup says... #24

The suspend is pretty expensive. I'd rather run Howling Mine for another draw every upkeep, and I already have dictate, overbeing and staff of nin.

August 10, 2014 8:06 p.m.

Jaxis says... #25

Yeah, but the problem is a Howling Mine can get Disenchant ed before it benefits you. The Aeon Chronicler however, ONLY benefits you and there are only a handful of cards ever printed that can mess with your suspended cards, practically none of which are in anyone's commander deck.
