Removal —Feb. 11, 2015

Looking now for more removal options, both spot and wipe. I want wipe cards to affect the opponent's board only if possible.

Norn's Annex might be good here

Thanks GoblinBushwacker. That helps with securing my planeswalkers and could lead to them increasing the life swing.

Greater Auramancy to protect your commander once he's flipped and your exile enchantments? Doesn't help on board clears, but it will make it so that you don't need to worry about spot removal as much.

Thanks spotmarkedx, that's spot on :D

Ooh. Test of Endurance seems cool. I hope it has a reprint. Thanks Luutamo

I'd suggest Atalya, Samite Master . Great in a commander deck where you should be able to produce good mana. I always like Elixir of Immortality as well.

Banishing Stroke and Oblation are great white removal (and instants, which makes them more useful). Some of the spells that prevent attacks can be helpful: Windborn Muse and Ghostly Prison mirror Norn's Annex . Righteous Cause stacks with Patron of the Kitsune . Caged Sun can buff your creatures and increase your mana output. Crusade can be dangerous, if other players have white cards.

Thanks raefgall, these are some great ideas.

it's not a commonly seen card, but I find it extremely usefull General Jarkeld especially if you're going for lockdown, say you are going on an attack, and your opponent send out some tough blockers, you can switch two of those blockers to prevent your creatures from dying, or to overwhelm your opponents

Here's a recommendation to free up some room in your enchantments. I would keep one of the +1/+1 enchantments but replace 2 with Dictate of Heliod . Other good enchantments are True Conviction , Sphere of Safety , Leyline of Sanctity , Sigil of the Empty Throne .

Sun Titan might be the best all-around white card in EDH. It's just insanely useful, especially for mono White, which has serious card advantage problems. If you pick one up, he's even worth building a small package around.

Expedition Map can find Emeria or Nykthos, or even just a Plains so you don't miss a land drop. Wayfarer's Bauble , Burnished Hart , Solemn Simulacrum , and Kor Cartographer are pretty solid rampers. I'd even consider Pilgrim's Eye as a flying blocker that ensures a land drop and thins the deck.

Skullclamp is absolutely insane and a big boon for mono White. And it's easy to find with Steelshaper's Gift , Enlightened Tutor , Stoneforge Mystic , and Stonehewer Giant . Lightning Greaves / Swiftfoot Boots are other solid equipments.

You could also drop both Spirit Link and Spirit Loop for Loxodon Warhammer . For more blowout lifegain, how about Windbrisk Raptor or Angelic Skirmisher ?

Wall of Omens is actually pretty solid, but I think you REALLY want Well of Lost Dreams . Oh yeah, and Mentor of the Meek is really good.

Darien, King of Kjeldor might be counter-intuitive, but he's a nice combo with any of the Soul Sisters (Soul Warden, etc.). If you don't die, you regain all the life you would lose. He's also good with Skullclamp and Mentor of the Meek.

I agree with Strike11B that you're running more anthems (+/+ enchantments) than you need. I'd cut the lamer ones, like Crusade, Honor of the Pure, and Glorious Anthem for more powerful things, like Marshal's Anthem , Cathars' Crusade , True Conviction , etc.

I understand that some of the stuff I suggested may be above budget, but I just thought I'd throw them out so you can see the potential. Overall my biggest suggestions are Sun Titan, Skullclamp, Mentor of the Meek, and Well of Lost Dreams because otherwise I think you'll just be top-decking late game.

Finally, you have a TON of redundancy, which is nice for consistency but not so nice for flexibility. A good way to compromise these values is tutors and draw, which account for most of my suggestions. The other major White tutors are Idyllic Tutor and it's budget-friendly counterpart Plea for Guidance . If you wanna play around with Auras, White has a lot of tutoring for that (Heliod's Pilgrim , Three Dreams , Boonweaver Giant , etc.).

Good luck and feel free to pick my brain!

Wow, that's a lot to take in DiamondFlavor... I've put in Marshal's Anthem , Cathars' Crusade , and Mentor of the Meek . I'm looking for a place for Sun Titan but finding one in my curve is tricky.

If you're looking to swap out another 6-drop for it, I'd suggest either Palisade Giant or Weathered Bodyguards , or even Kjeldoran Royal Guard . Those all do about the same thing, and even though their effect is really good with your commander, the flexibility of Sun Titan would be better than having three of the same effect.

Deal! Thanks DiamondFlavor. Got bits of this and almost ready to buy the rest, so I want to iron it out. You've helped a lot.

If you're motivated, Land Tax , Tithe and Knight of the White Orchid can give you easy land drops

Pearl Medallion for mana cost reduction, Aura of Silence is good in any white lockdown decks, Celestial Dawn good card to combo off your Eight-and-a-Half-Tails and Avacyn, Guardian Angel , Concerted Effort so all your creatures share same abilities,

What about one of my personal favourites Lightmine Field . Combined with your commander you will be the only one able attack with all creatures.

There's also Weathered Wayfarer , Land Tax , Tithe , Gift of Estates and Wayfarer's Bauble that will help on your mana.

And since you're running with white you might as well run one or two boardwipes like Rout and the ever iconic Wrath of God

Ulvhedner I certainly like light mine. Manas never a problem unless I draw it when NOT needed

I commented on this deck a while ago and after reading through the posts as it gets more and more comments has made me want to turn my attention back to my list. There's been a few sets released since I put any work into it. What do you think?

If you want to contiue to build upon lifelink, may I suggest some cards like Angelic Accord, Cradle of Life, Goldenglow Moth, Noble Purpose, Noble Stand, Path of Bravery. And cards to back up the Hundred-Handed One, I suggest cards like Wall of Glare, and Luminarch Ascension.

Heh, never saw Noble Purpose before DeRezz. Shows you can't just search "lifelink" in Gatherer.

Thanks.

the best part about some of these cards or other cards that says, "whenever a creature you control deals combat damage, you gain that much life." this ability stacks with lifelink. because lifelink is a keytext ability while the statement from cards like Noble Purpose is not a keytext ability.
