Some Recent Changes —Oct. 4, 2017

-Staff of Nin is replaced with Trinisphere.

-Vesuva is replaced with Mind Stone.

-Mage-Ring Network is replaced with Homeward Path.

-Purely cosmetic, but for anyone that cares I am bored of the Masterpiece series cards so I am going to work on finding original foils or cool promos of the cards that could be a Kaladesh Invention. I'll probably still get the BFZ expeditions though because those are fitting given the commander.

Staff of Nin was great if played very early or if the game went long as well as having some fringe combo potential, however, Trinishpere is a brutally powerful stax piece against a lot of competitive decks and I kept noting in games times that I really wished I had it. Also, a turn 1 Trinishpere off of a Mishra's Workshop or land, Mana Crypt, etc. is just brutal against most cEDH decks they traditionally have low land counts and rely on fast mana to actually play the game. Just this one play has entirely locked opponents out of the game on the first turn more than once.

Vesuva has reasonable potential but entering tapped is obnoxious and when I cut Maze of Ith for a Wastes, I more or less just added a land so cutting Vesuva isn't too big of a deal. Also, I kept a hand a few days ago that would have been a turn 1 win with any land that tapped for mana (I was going second) but my only land was Vesuva. My opponent played a Verdant Catacombs and did not activate it. Naturally, I didn't draw a land so instead of winning on turn 1 or even playing a land and hoping to win on turn 2, I discarded to hand size and passed. The next person cast a turn 1 Wheel of Fortune which allowed me to confirm that no one could have stopped me from winning. And then I cut Vesuva.

Mage-Ring Network shines when locked under a Stony Silence effect, but only really when stuck under a Stony Silence effect. Homeward Path had been relevant more often for me.

Looks like a lot of fun, you put a lot of work into this and it seems that you'll continue doing that moving forward. Thanks for making this guide!

203995014 Thank you for the comment. This definitely is one of my favorite decks I have played and it is by far the most fun (at least for me, most people don't like getting Mindslavered). And I definitely plan on working on the primer and keeping it updated as the cEDH meta expands. As of right now, I have about 25 cards I have been testing (a few I just wanted to try again to make sure I made the right call when I cut them) and sometime in the next few days there will be an update to reflect the ones I think should actually go in the deck. And when I have enough time to type it out I plan on adding a section about matchups and meta options to help people that are contemplating building the deck.
