I like this version a lot, if only because it's powered up and seems more ready for the midgame. Would appreciate if you have any tips for my own Edgar deck, which has turned into my cEDH deck for when things get serious. It's based on another 30-land build, but more budget-friendly.

My very weenie Edgar

LittleBlueHero - Sorry for a super late reply... I haven't played a game of mtg in like 6 months.

Iroas and Dolmen Gate are both viable but not as good as Recon here. For redundancy I'd go Enlightened Tutor > Idyllic Tutor/Iroas, God of Victory (Tie) > Dolmen Gate in that order. I wouldn't include more than 1 of these personally though.

I feel like Hatred is a great card for this deck. I often use the card as player removal. Given how often you have flying and the propensity of lifelink, its very doable. Putting it on a creature with both like Vampire Nighthawk is just wonderful. You had some amazing suggestions for my deck. I figured I would give my input as well. Thank you.

Gorbah - It's flexible which is nice. You can unload creatures, removal, tutors, and/or finishers from your grave. I've typically used it to recast finishers, removal, and tutors and I usually get to cast 2-3 spells off of it.

Assuming your playgroup is ok with gold border cards, pick up the world championship version for about $30 and save lots of $$$.

Love to see Edgar Markov decks doing well on Tapped Out you. Had a few suggestions that I think could make this a stronger aggro deck.

  1. Two Mana Mana rocks: In my experience with Aggressive Edgar Markov decks getting the aggressive strategy to work is all about playing at least one vampire every turn from one to four. When you just spend your second turn playing a mana rock you significantly damage the momentum building of your deck and give your opponents a lot more time to build up their boards or find an answer. In addition, you already play cards like Boros Charm and Flawless Maneuver which in a way "preserves" the mana you commit to the board and prevent you from losing momentum. Obviously, cards like Sol Ring and Mana Crypt are perfectly fine as they get you ahead of your curve and you can start comming more powerful vampires earlier in the game and you don't lose any momentum due to their raw efficieny as mana rocks.

Next, I just had a handful of card suggestions

Skymarcher Aspirant over Duskborne Skymarcher, since it just more aggressively statted or even Vicious Conquistador is probably better as well, really up to preference.

Nighthawk Scavenger over Vampire Nighthawk just a strictly better card, if any opponent cracks a fetch in the first 3 turns it's at least just as good but probably has more upside.

Bloodlord of Vaasgoth Maybe he's fun but he is just not a very good card, he is 5 mana and has no immediate board impact, if for whatever reason that he is threatening he will just get removed. In addition Edgar Markov himself is one more mana and has the same role as Bloodlord of Vaasgoth does but just does it better. There are a lot of cards that you could replace him with, perhaps just Bloodghast he is a decent attacker and he is really good with Skullclamp + fetch lands.

Olivia Voldaren + Sangromancer are these just pet cards? that's all well and good to just play the magic cards you want to play. I honestly have no idea how these cards are good in an aggro strategy.

Sorin, Solemn Visitor for Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord, removal, mana cheating, and buffing all on one card and for one mana less. Although Sorin, Solemn Visitor isn't a bad card so you could just put in Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord for one of the other cards.

Nice to see an Edgar Markov deck with Vampire Nocturnus, the best vampire. If you want to check out my own deck I have a link here This deck isn't a pure aggro list but it is one of the stategies the deck can go for.

VampRamped Sorry for a very very late reply.

Skymarcher Aspirant could definitely replace Duskborne Skymarcher here (or run both). He's just here to give me an evasive 1 drop.

Vampire Nighthawk and Nighthawk Scavenger are both in the list now. I like flyers, especially ones that trade up... or better yet deter attacks.

Bloodlord of Vaasgoth probably isn't necessary but the deck is built as more of a midrange aggro deck than full tilt aggro. I was happy with the card personally. I don't see too much spot removal but rather a LOT of wraths... thus me running 4 different anti-wrath cards.

Olivia Voldaren is gone now. Sangromancer is here to be a flyer and to offset a lot of self inflicted life loss. Again, a bit of a meta call because he was triggered frequently.

Sorin, Solemn Visitor definitely deserves the spot over Sorin Imperious Bloodlord here. Bloodlord's +1 only effects 1 creature, his minus is just Lightning helix with a forced sac, and his ult wants fatty vamps which the deck runs sparingly. Solemn Visitor's +1 is 'until your next turn' so it's insanely good with Reconnaissance and gains massive amounts of life, deters attacks, or they forget about it and immediately regret attacking. Other than making the occasionally needed 2/2 flyer that's all he does here.

As far as my 2 drop rocks go, you could attempt this deck without them but I wouldn't recommend it. This really is more of a midrange aggro strategy but it worked really well in my meta. This is the rare Edgar list that doesn't mind a game going to 20+ turns.

I see so it is actually a bit more of a midrange Edgar Markov deck which is fair enough. Midrange Edgar Markov decks are quite reasonable lists.

Is there any way to keep the price tag down? What lands could you cut to make it more affordable?

The 6 off color fetches and Prismatic Vista could be dropped (Vampire Nocturnus goes with them though). Yawgmoth's Will, Land Tax, Cavern of Souls, Mana Crypt, and Vampiric Tutor can go. Also a few foils are half the price or less in nonfoil like Demonic Tutor and Necropotence. Not sure how low you're trying to go but the 13 (+2 foil) cards I suggested significantly lower the pricetag.
