Answer to a Creatureless Opponent —Sept. 9, 2018

I've gone ahead and added Forbidden Orchard. I might continue messing with the quantity but it's an amazing card that turns a normally negative effect to the owner into a positive and just feels at home with this deck. As always, thank you all that have commented before and helped me turn this into the most fun deck I have!

I love these one-man-army style decks. There are way too few of them. This is a pretty cool approach to it, I really like the combo with Repercussion.

You might consider adding some more lifegain though, as Form of the Dinosaur doesn't heal you at any given time. Lifegain doesn't really exist in mono red, so adding a little white might be fitting. Renewed Faith and Sanguine Sacrament are powerful. And then, the is Beacon of Immortality, which seems to be the best option. Adding white also gives you access to Lightning Helix. If you want to stay mono-red, Aetherflux Reservoir might be another great card that also benefits from your big amount of cheap spells.

Now that I think about it: Adding white doesn't seem too good of an idea. But you should definitely consider reservoir. Gives you even a little Godzilla flavour ;)

Awesome deck! Very unique and different than a lot of the other deck strategies. It could certainly catch people off guard!

You could maybe consider adding some kind of ramp to help get your main enchantments out quicker. I am having a hard time finding red-specific ramp outside of Gauntlet of Might (which is ridiculous) but maybe Extraplanar Lens could be beneficial?

Additionally, since the rest of your deck has very low CMC, you could add Mass Land Destruction cards to use after you get your main enchantments out. This could help solidify your presence on the board and make it harder for opponents to recover.

If you do end up running white, you could also run cards like Idyllic Tutor or Enlightened Tutor to help consistently draw your enchantment. White would also assist you in cheap Mass Land Destruction with Armageddon.

seshiro_of_the_orochi,Peoyogon, thank you for your recommendations. I agree I've been heavily considering adding white to this deck. The thing that keeps me from doing that jump is that I'm trying to be hyper-aggressive to deal with the majority of creature-based decks. I'll be definitely be adding Extraplanar Lens for that mana ramp.

Did you consider Crushing Pain? It might be better than needle drop, though it isn't cantripping.

seshiro_of_the_orochi I'm not sure if I'd want to get rid of the card draw from Needle Drop but I have to admit that Crushing Pain is ridiculous for 2 mana. I'll switch them out and playtest for a bit and see how it goes. I might start a side board with it at the very least

I think you're relying a little too heavily that you'll be battling a creature based deck...

If you're looking to replace the Forgotten Cave, you could go for 2 Mouth of Ronom and replace your Mountains with Snow Mountains and toss in a playset of Skred. Unfortunately, I don't think there's a comparable replacement to Repercussion that's modern legal :(. Cool deck though!

If you want to take this to modern, what you probably need is Tamanoa and Children of Korlis. I wouldn't play any other creatures if you're also running Repercussion, but their effects are what you're really needing. You've got to last long enough to stick both enchantments, and then survive hitting yourself to win.

If nothing else EDH has a place for everything.
