Moved 3x Wrench Mind to Sideboard and brought in 2x Inquisition of Kozilek & 1x Liliana of the Veil from their sideboard positions. Inquisitions open up mana a little more and give space for Liliana.

Whilst Davriel is a little out of my preferred curve for this deck, I love the idea of Hymn CrunchyDragon! That's actually a great replacement for Wrench Mind as it will always hit two cards rather than the potential of just one.
Removal tends to sit in the sideboard of the deck just as this speed-based 8Rack punishes straight out of the gates. I'm happy to learn from Game 1 and then adjust accordingly into Game 2 & 3.
Thanks for the comment though, a great welcome back to the game and TappedOut to have some immediate recommendations on a deck I love!

No problem! My friend's deck has no creatures and is just pure removal, discard, and torture. It's one of my favorite decks that I hate playing against.

Sounds like your friend has great taste, CrunchyDragon!
Thanks to your advicr I'm going to swap in a playset of Hymn to Tourach to replace Wrench Mind, and also got a playset of Funeral Charm and Inquisition of Kozilek I plan to play around with between mainboard and side

Unfortunately Hymn to Tourach isn't Modern legal (something about before 8th editon it didn't exist and Modern reprint sets don't count), so Wrench Mind went back into Main Board. Got some Kozileks for side board and some Funeral Charms in main now.

That's pretty good. I've seen similar decks featuring Davriel, Rogue Shadowmage, Hymn to Tourach, and a bit more removal just to help ensure that your opponent doesn't get anything rolling.
