I replaced Undermine with Psychic Strike, since that card has both a less mana-intensive cost and also an effect that is (usually) more powerful.

Does anyone else here have any feedback about this deck? I would be very interested to learn what people think of it.

I would like to have Kiora, the Crashing Wave in this deck, because her emblem is awesome, but I am not certain which planeswalker to remove for her; Jace Beleren is the least important to this deck, but he has a low mana cost, and I wish to keep the mana curve of this deck low. What does everyone else say about that?

HydraOoze, Brutal_B, thank you for the upvotes! Do you have any suggestions or other comments about this deck?

Has anybody played Solemnity against this deck? Does it shut the deck down?

DemonDragonJ says... #5

Brutal_B, I have not yet physically constructed this deck, but I imagine that Solemnity would be hugely problematic for it, so my best options would be to either counter the spell as it is cast (and I have six counterspells in this deck) or destroy it after it has entered the battlefield (and there are three cards that can do so).

Would either Helix Pinnacle or Spike Feeder be good for this deck? They would definitely fit into its main theme.

Should I replace Temple of the False God with Mikokoro, Center of the Sea? Between Gyre Sage, Astral Cornucopia, and Everflowing Chalice, this deck definitely can generate more than sufficient mana, so an additional source of card advantage would be very nice. What does everyone else say about that?

I replaced Daghatar the Adamant with Shalai, Voice of Plenty, because Shalai's ability is only too perfect for this deck.

Jace Beleren really did not fit the overall theme of this deck, so I removed him and replaced him with Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, who fits with this deck far better.

I would really like to put a Juniper Order Ranger in this deck, because of how well it would work, but I am not certain what card to remove to add it; I could remove Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit, as the ranger is superior to her in virtually every way, but it also has a far higher mana cost, and I wish to keep the mana curve of this deck as low as possible; what does everyone else say about that?

After much deliberation, I did, indeed, replace, Anafenza with the ranger, but I also replaced Echoes of the Kin Tree with Mikaeus, the Lunarch, since he is superior to it in virtually every way. After those two replacements, the average converted mana cost of this deck increased from 3.73 to 3.77, which is only the most minimal of increases, so I am very pleased with these replacements.

I removed Putrefy in favor of Assassin's Trophy, which is expensive in terms of money but is a superior card overall, and I also lowered the average mana cost of this deck by doing so (yes, 3.75 is not a huge reduction from 3.77, but it still is something).

I really would like to put Vraska, Golgari Queen in this deck, because all of her abilities are awesome (but most notably her third ability), but I cannot decide what card to remove to make room for her. After deliberating that matter, I feel that Witch-Maw Nephilim is the best card to remove, because it is one of the least useful cards in this deck; I added mainly because it was the only card of its colors prior to Atraxa being printed, but it does not contribute to the overall theme of the deck, so it likely would be better if I removed it to add Vraska.

I have removed Voidslime in favor of Disallow, because disallow is less expensive in terms of money, and I removed Witch-Maw Nephilim in favor of Simic Ascendancy, which has lowered the average converted mana cost of this deck from 3.75 to 3.72.

I replaced Temple of the False God with Gavony Township , because, as great as the temple is, the township is absolutely perfect for this deck, and I have plenty of cards in this deck that can generate more than a single mana at a time.

After discussion with other users, I replaced Psychic Strike with Dissolve , since that card is apparently a better card for this format.

Have you considered swapping Ring of Three Wishes at all for Planar Bridge ?

April 3, 2019 10:26 p.m.

DemonDragonJ says... #17

Delta, I have thought about that, but Planar Bridge is simply too expensive, and this deck can theoretically produce infinite wishes from the ring, due to its focus on proliferation.

Also, I have replaced Gavony Township with Karn's Bastion and Spread the Sickness with wanderer's strike, since those cards are generally superior for the purposes of this deck.

I also have replaced Dissolve with Voidslime , because I like how it is redundant with Disallow .

I have replaced Thrummingbird with Grateful Apparition , because the apparition has a more versatile ability.

I would also suggest you consider Spark Double :)

It's going in my Atraxa deck for sure.

Delta, that card would be very awesome for this deck, but the only question is what card I would remove to make room for it.

I am contemplating replacing the tri-lands in this deck with storage lands, so does anyone have any advice about that?

Also, should I replace Mortify with Utter End ? The latter card is more expensive, but it has greater versatility; if I do that, I shall certainly replace Tezzeret's Gambit with Contentious Plan , to keep the mana curve of this deck low.

Hey, I think the Tri lands are better than the Storage lands. Even though they come into play tapped, after that being able to make one of three different colors of mana is very helpful with a four color manabase. Mirrodin's Core and Tendo Ice Bridge are budget and they ETB untapped. Either can tap for colorless with/without a counter or with a counter they can tap for any one color of mana. These are like Storage lands, but are Rainbow lands that can also take some advantage of proliferate/Doubling Season.

Budget lands to consider adding:

These lands can replace basic lands since 24 basic lands is a lot for a four color manabase. I also recommend adding Fellwar Stone , Farseek and Nature's Lore . Potential early game plays that can help four colors and Farseek/Lore interact with Shock lands. Adding an Overgrown Tomb and Murmuring Bosk would help with these spells. Good luck with your deck.

multimedia, I was contemplating putting all six shocklands that were supported by Atraxa's colors, but I instead chose to use three allied-colored shocklands and three enemy-colored checklands.

Also, I chose to have more than half the lands in this deck be basic lands, in the case that an opponent of mine is cruel enough to use Blood Moon or Ruination , I really would like to have some further utility lands in this deck, such as Grim Backwoods or Vault of the Archangel , plus, I would like to add Gavony Township back to this deck, so could I reduce the number of basic lands to 20, and still have a strong mana base?

Hey, I think if you already have all the Shock lands that they can replace the Tri lands.

Play all six Shock lands especially Forest ones, the three Check lands and include cards that can tutor for Shock lands while also being helpful ramp. Fetches of course are best, but if don't have them then Farseek, Lore, Wood Elves , Skyshroud Claim . Birds of Paradise , Incubation Druid and Paradise Druid won't break the bank and they're good for color fixing and early game ramp. Incubation is good with proliferate and with Rainbow lands. Crystalline Crawler is four mana, but it can make colored mana the turn you play it which is very good. Can also be a constant source of any color of mana with proliferate.

Crop Rotation and Sylvan Scrying are helpful to tutor for any one land. Opal Palace and Guildmages' Forum are good lands with Atraxa since either can put a counter on her letting her then proliferate herself. It's worth playing five mana to cast Atraxa with one of these lands.

Grim Backwoods isn't a good land even with token strategies. Five mana, four and tap Backwoods as well as sac a creature to draw one card is not a good investment, not worth it. Any land that can't originally make colored mana better be great if you're playing it in a four color manabase. Out of those three options you mentioned, Gavony Township is the only one to consider because of it's interaction with proliferate.

As far as proliferation goes Evolution Sage and Flux Channeler are high end since they're three drops who can be repeatable proliferate for no mana cost. With Atraxa and one of these proliferating twice a turn for no mana cost seems very good especially with Doubling Season and if you can get a counter on Atraxa.
