More Aggressive, More Tutors —Jan. 19, 2017
Every time I play test I discover an improvement opportunity. This time it's my average CMC being too high, especially among my creatures. On average, paying 5 mana for a creature is just too high. Especially in an aggro build where the goal is to flood the board with creatures and ETB triggers. I need the maneuverability to play creatures without completely emptying my mana pool.
I want those huge, game changing creatures but there has to be balance. The small Allies set up the big ones, not the other way around.
In order to speed things up a bit I made some changes that I think will be very beneficial. It looks good on paper, so we'll see how it holds up during play testing.
My creature includes are Kalastria Healer, Zulaport Cutthroat and Trophy Mage. Trophy Mage in particular is important because she can help me tutor out a whole host of very helpful Artifacts. Crazy value for a 3 cost, flicker friendly creature.
Sword of Body and Mind is a fun new toy to play with. 2/2 wolf tokens pair really well with Conspiracy and forcing an opponent to discard 10 cards is usually pretty good (unless they're playing mill).
I'm excited to see how it plays.
