Partitioned Inventories

Site Updates forum

Inventories were starting to push some limits so now large inventories have been partitioned according to rarity.

That's all. Also your inventory should load much faster if it was even loading at all. Might require a save.

If you don't see any partition its because your inventory wasn't that big to begin with so its all on one page load.

That's super exciting! However, when I went to go look at this new inventory, I discovered that my inventory (and binder) says it is empty... I suspect this may be related to "might require a save" but I'm not sure what is meant by that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Oh right forgot to tell you I screwed yours up. Hope it's not a huge problem there's always digging it out of a back up. Let me know if you can't trivially recreate it.

Here's where I cross my fingers that my backup at home still exists :) if it doesn't (and I'll find out tomorrow. I'd say 60% chance it's there) how hard Is it to pull it out of a backup? If it's a pain, I don't want to be a jerk and make you do it, but if it's not difficult to do, that'd be a relief.

Hey I already used that line.

So I was able to get into my files from my in laws... I don't have a trivial way to recreate it :/. yeaGO Is it too much trouble to retrieve it? If it's a pain, I'll just slowly work on reinventorying (is that even a word? And I call myself an English teacher) my cards. Thanks!

What size pushes the inventories over the partitioning threshold?

I've never paid that much attention to the rarity of cards before (except looking for the gold and red when drafting), so this makes it a lot harder to search through what I have when deck building. If the limit is big enough, I might just take out the few hundred cards that will probably never show up in any decks.

Thinking of how I use the inventory, how hard would it be to have an option of creature / other permanent / non-permanent instead of rare-mythic / uncommon / common for the partitioning ?

Thanks for all your hard work!

I recently dumped my entire inventory into tappedout.net just to see what would happen. I can view my rares, but my other rarities won't load at all.

Is it feasible to dump more of the work to display these onto the client?

i think there's also a filtering bug causing them not to display that you can fix in the mean time.

that was kinda the problem. i can perhaps relax the restriction. how big is your inventory? i see its empty now.

It's over 3900 cards, so it's not empty, or private. Did you click the right link?

sorry was looking at binder.

okay. yeah i was kinda hoping to keep it lower than 3k.... its kinda nice for mobile users too.

can you double check you aren't filtering by rarity as well as looking at the wrong partition?

Update to the above: I just tried opening that link in a Google Chrome Incognito window (to see how it's displayed by default) and the window just freezes up.

This issue seems to be restricted to Google Chrome (v42), as I can load them in Firefox.

I don't think the parser likes the size of the page (>1MB). What about requesting the cards with XHR?
