A little dispute

Okay....If someone were to use Mourner's Shield and exiled their own Eternal Scourge, they would NOT then be able to prevent damage from any source that includes a generic cost because the generic mana symbol does not represent all colors in that way. It means that any color can be used to represent IT...and because the Shield says "shares a COLOR"...correct?

Eternal Scourge does not have any colors in it's casting cost nore a color indicator, so it is colorless. No cards share a color with a colorless card, not even other colorless cards. Mourner's Shield would not be able to prevent any damage, because no sources will share a color with Eternal Scourge.

Another note because of the abilities on these cards, though I'll switch to Misthollow Griffin. If Mourner's Shield exiles Misthollow Griffin, the ability can prevent damage from blue sources for as long as the Griffen is exiled, but if the Griffen gets cast from exile using it's ability, there will no longer be a card exiled with Mourner's Shield and it will no longer be able to prevent damage.
