Hard cuts, more to come —Oct. 26, 2020

I had a really hard time with these cuts, because there's a few cards I really wanted to add and not any cards I wanted to remove. I settled on:

IN: Exploration, Sneak Attack

OUT: Sylvan Scrying, Taurean Mauler

Exploration and Sneak Attack used to be expensive, but after being reprinted in Double Masters, are both sitting at around $10. I think it's obvious why they are both good in this deck. Let's get to the cuts.

Taurean Mauler. This card is not good enough anymore. While it's nice in the early game because it can grow and be sacrificed to Momentous Fall or Life's Legacy, it has no evasion so it's not a very good attacker no matter how big it gets. It's also a dreadful topdeck when you're behind. The only reason this was ever in the deck is because this is technically a dragon and Radha is a dragon synergy deck. It's probably high time this came out.

Sylvan Scrying. This card is best in decks that have ridiculous lands that either combo (think Dark Depths + Thespian's Stage , Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth or the tron lands) or have lands that are so overwhelming powerful that they can swing a game dramatically in your favor simply by being on the field (think Glacial Chasm or Maze of Ith). This deck has nothing like that. Basically, in this deck, it's a second copy of Reliquary Tower that you got after drawing a lot of cards so you don't have to discard. With two big recursion cards in Praetor's Council and Season's Past, keeping your best seven is usually good enough anyway. In a graveyard-hate heavy meta, I could see this changing, but even in that meta Thought Vessel would probably be better for this deck.

There are a few other cuts I was thinking of making, because I want to also include Return of the Wildspeaker, Leyline Tyrant and Vandalblast, but this has proved very difficult. We'll see what happens. Cards I've been thinking of, though, are Sudden Demise (it doesn't seem very wise to cut one of the two boardwipes but it has not proven to be a very impressive card) for Vandalblast, Garruk Wildspeaker for Return of the Wildspeaker (which is ironic when you think about it) and Mina and Denn, Wildborn for Leyline Tyrant.
